FET Preparation Program (Hifth Students)
FET Integration & Preparation is an academic intervention program aimed at hifth or current grade 9 learners ages 15 and older who are returning to mainstream education with the intention of entering the 10th grade in 2016. There is a specific focus on arithmetic, problem-solving and language skills. The program entails a mixture of computer-based, group- and peer-assessed activities, games, problem-solving, lateral thinking and academic challenges, and sessions on self-management.
The focus of such a development program is to strengthen core concepts with a particular focus on mastery of concepts. In addition, the benefits of this program are primarily long-term and the aim of the program is to invest in the learner’s intellectual ability, develop an appreciation for deeper critical thinking and encourage independence in learning.
Literacy is the foundation of any educational engagement. We incorporate a strong focus on literacy in all our programs including mathematics and language.
The program is primarily aimed at Hafith students who intend on entering grade 10 in 2016 and are returning to mainstream schooling in 2016.
The program is also open to students who are presently at school and require additional support, encouragement and exposure in the above content subjects. These are students who are currently in grade 9 in 2015 and will be in grade 10 in 2016.
